Daniel O'Connor

Daniel brings to this work a real passion for helping clients see through the complexity and uncertainty of their circumstances in order to generate clear strategy and cultivate genuine commitment.
While specializing in Integral Business Modeling™, he has also engaged entrepreneurs and executives on a full range of strategic challenges, including mission clarification, business portfolio analysis, strategic options/scenarios, organization design, process improvement, performance management, executive succession, ethical leadership, corporate responsibility, sustainable business, social entrepreneurship, employee ownership, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and turnarounds. Prior to founding Integral Ventures, Daniel served as the managing director of Net Impact, an international network of emerging business leaders committed to using the power of business to create a better world. Before that, he worked in a series of leading management consulting, management development, and corporate finance firms. Over the years, he has served a variety of clients, from start-up ventures to middle-market companies to multi-national corporations, including: Anacomp, Bal Harbour Estates, BorgWarner, The Center for Courage & Renewal, General Re, McDougal Littell, Newland Communities, Reliance Electric, Reliance Steel & Aluminum, Ryder, US Can, and Zeigler Coal.
Daniel has been a pioneer for over fifteen years in the development of integral praxis in business and economics, having authored numerous articles and essays in this emerging field. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Illinois, an MA in organization development from Antioch University, an MBA in strategy and finance from the University of Chicago, and a certificate in international business from London Business School. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Karen works with entrepreneurs and executives to create alignment between their individual intentions and actions, as well as their company culture and strategy.
Known for her values-based, results-driven approach, she has over fifteen years of experience leading individual and organization development efforts as a consultant, manager, and coach. Prior to joining Integral Ventures, Karen provided leadership development, performance management, and organizational learning services as managing director of a boutique organization development firm and within the human capital practice of a Big Five consultancy. Before that, she worked in the social sector as a manager, therapist, and fund developer. Selected clients include: American Financial Solutions, Basic American Foods, The Center for Courage & Renewal, Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, Gap, Hunter Industries, Intel, Longs Drugs, Net Impact, University of California at Berkeley, and YMCA of San Francisco.
Beyond her consulting work, Karen is the Managing Partner of Lumina Coaching, a professional and personal development firm dedicated to enlightened living. Her work is grounded in a thorough understanding of human development, organizational culture, and interpersonal communication, and informed by her international background. "Growing up global," she was raised on five different continents by parents from Europe and America, and educated in international, public, private, and home schools. She has a BS in organizational psychology from Springfield College and an MA in psychotherapy from Lesley College. In addition, she has been certified to use Spiral Dynamics Integral, the Kolbe System as a Kolbe External Specialist, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as an MBTI Qualified Administrator.

Examples include: introducing eLearning and vendor rationalization to cut a global training budget from $150 million to $40 million over 4 years, while increasing training scale and impact; leading a knowledge transfer program to secure intellectual assets and reduce risks in a $90 million offshoring effort; automating an entire product development workflow from initiation to delivery, reducing time-to-market by over 50%; and developing competency-based learning programs to integrate workforces after a billion-dollar merger.
Rich has worked in the U.S., UK, France, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, India, and China. He is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance with the American Society for Training and Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College, a masters degree in Comparative Religion from Harvard University, and has reading competency in nine languages.
